Zooey Deschanel files for divorce from Ben Gibbard

The New Girl star and Gibbard announced their separation in November after two years of marriage.
People reports that Deschanel has since filed divorce paperwork in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the split.
Deschanel and Gibbard announced their engagement in December 2008 and married in a private ceremony near Seattle, Washington in 2009.
The actress recently said that she and Gibbard are "fine" and still remain on "friendly" terms despite their separation.
In December, Deschanel and 500 Days of Summer co-star Joseph Gordon-Levitt posted a video duet online of them singing a song called 'What Are You Doing New Year's Eve'.
