Jennifer Hudson: 'My son has never seen me overweight'

Jennifer Hudson has revealed that her 2-year-old son David has never known her to be overweight.

The singer and actress, who dropped 80 lbs by following the Weight Watchers programme, said that she tries to set a healthy example for her child and is glad that he is too young to remember her at her heaviest.

"What's funny is that he's never known me as overweight. If he's sees a clip of the old Jennifer from Dreamgirls, he doesn't know who it is," Hudson said in a new interview with Good Housekeeping.

Hudson added of her approach to teaching David about healthy foods: "It's the cutest thing. I'm like, 'Wow, this is really working'.

"[We used to watch TV] and all he wanted to do was lie in Mommy's lap and eat cookies. But now he knows his limit. He sees Mommy's example and knows that he's going to get two, not the whole box."

The Academy Award winner recently opened her own weight loss centre in her hometown of Chicago.

Hudson has claimed that she is prouder of her weight loss than she is of having won an Oscar.
