JK Rowling has made her way into Forbes magazine's list of the top ten celebrity earners.
The author earned £41 million pounds in 2005 thanks to her phenomenally successfully Harry Potter series and the products associated with it. The massive sum averages out at £77 per minute, and places her at number nine on the list.
Forbes reporter Hannah Clark commented: “While celebrities grab headlines, it’s rarely actors who make money. If you want to keep on making money long term, you need a winning franchise and JK Rowling is proof of that.”
Other names on the list include Steven Spielberg, who came in at number one with earnings of £182 million, and chat show queen Oprah Winfrey with £122 million.
