Dustin Diamond has claimed that a woman attempted to mug him during a recent stay in a hotel.
The actor, who played the character Screech Powers on Saved by the Bell, was staying in Omaha in order to perform at the Funny Bone Comedy Club when the alleged incident occurred.
Speaking on a Florida radio station, Diamond gave an account of the incident describing how a woman burst into the room armed with mace an attempted to steal some computer games, then shouted "rape" when he grabbed hold of her to stop her escaping.
When police arrived, the 28-year-old woman denied his accusations and claimed the former TV star had assaulted her.
However, Police Sergeant Teresa Negron told the Associated Press that no charges had been filed officially. She commented: "It's a case of 'he said, she said'."
