Katherine Jenkins, Gethin Jones 'were never going to marry'

Katherine Jenkins and Gethin Jones realised long before their separation last month that they would never get married, a source has claimed.
The opera singer and TV presenter broke off their ten-month engagement in late December, with Jenkins announcing on Twitter that they were "both beyond broken-hearted".

Previous reports suggested that their relationship crumbled due to Jenkins's "very demanding goals", but insiders have now said that the pair were struggling to get by on a personal level as well.
"Katherine and Gethin simply couldn't make it work," a source told the Daily Mail. "They really did try, it wasn't just work pressures - they had bigger problems that were insurmountable.
"They stayed together for as long as they could, but in the end it just became clear that a wedding was never going to happen."
The claims come after Jenkins broke down in tears during the opening night of her UK tour in Oxford this weekend, one of her first public appearances since the split.
Conductor Anthony Inglis, seen comforting Jenkins in pictures published today (January 9), said of the incident on Twitter: "Glad I could come to the aid with a hanky. Needed one myself."
