Ricky Gervais jokes about pre-Golden Globes plastic surgery - Picture

Ricky Gervais has suggested that he underwent a plastic surgery procedure in anticipation of the Golden Globes.
The comedian, who will host the prestigious awards show for the third time, took to Twitter to joke about his preparations for Sunday's (January 15) ceremony.
"Some last minute preparation so I don't look out of place at The Golden Globes..." Gervais wrote, adding a picture of himself outside a plastic surgery clinic called the 'Modern Institute of Plastic Surgery and Anti Aging'.

Last week, the 50-year-old revealed that no restrictions will be put on his Golden Globes jokes, and promised to tackle Hollywood's taboos when he returns to the stage.
In December, Gervais insisted that this would be his last time overseeing the awards show.
The 2012 Golden Globes airs live on NBC from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on January 15 at 8pm.
