The swimwear model and movie star, who is currently visiting the country to watch her tennis star husband Andy Roddick take part in the Australian Open, said that she likes the way Aussies "relax".
Decker told the Herald Sun: "I travel a lot for work so if I had to pick a place to be my second home it would be Australia... Andy feels fairly at home in Melbourne, he is here a lot.
"We are doing all the touristy things that people make fun of and there is a lot of stuff that we really don't see in the States."
Decker, who is this year's ambassador for the Magic Millions horse racing carnival on the Gold Coast, also advised ladies attending the races to take her style advice.
"I think the secret is longer hemlines," she said. "The races really embrace being formal, so if girls wore longer hemlines it would seem less night clubby."
She also revealed that she likes Australian fashion compared to the US, saying: "Australian style is very different. What I love best is that the people are very casual. I spend a lot of time in New York and it is very formal there but here people relax, it is summer... they embrace colour."
