Grigor Balyan alleged that he had to be treated for orthopaedic and neurologic injuries after a vehicle driven by the 25-year-old's assistant clipped him back in January 2010. He had been taking photographs of Lohan, who was in the passenger seat at the time.
Balyan named the Mean Girls star, her driver Paola Demara and management company Tri Star Sports and Entertainment as defendants.
He said that Lohan "so negligently, carelessly, and recklessly operated, maintained, repaired, owned, and controlled their automobile so as to cause an accident which resulted in personal injuries and property damage to Plaintiff".
Balyan launched the lawsuit after he received "an insignificant offer" from Lohan's insurance company and, according to TMZ, only wants "reasonable compensation".
It has also been reported that Lohan owes $93,000 (£60,000) in unpaid federal taxes.
