Madonna pays tribute to husband

Madonna has made a heartfelt speech paying tribute to her husband Guy Ritchie at her birthday party.

The singer invited over a hundred friends to celebrate her 48th birthday at a club in London, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kevin Spacey and Jamie and Jools Oliver, and was relaxed as she stood up to speak.

According to the Mirror, Madonna was evidently emotional as she declared: "I care for Guy deeply and he is the love of my life. He has changed my life for the better since I met him. I can only thank him for all his support."

In recent months rumours have been rife that the couple's marriage was under pressure due to the pop icon's hectic work schedule but it seems that their relationship is still strong.

A party-goer commented: "The last thing anyone expected was for Madonna to pay such a tribute to Guy. It was incredible to hear her open up and let people know such personal feelings. Guy was beaming and it's clear they're very much in love."
