The preacher drew the ire of the Anti-Defamation League and the Simon Wiesenthal Centre for comments he made about the Jewish community at Westlake, Ohio's Church on the Rise last week.
Hudson is alleged to have said: "You know how to make the Jew jealous? Have some money, honey… You go to LA and they own all the Rolex and diamond places.
"Walk down a part of LA where we live and it is so rich it smells. You ever smell rich? They are all Jews, hallelujah. Amen."
The Church on the Rise have now told CNN that the comments were never meant to offend Jews and Hudson has offered his own apology as well.
Hudson said in a statement: "I am not going to offer any excuse, or tell you not to think what I did wasn't so terrible. I do insist, and God is my witness - that I am not an anti-Semite. But that is the point. We can do lots of harm even to those we love simply by using words irresponsibly.
"I used images about Jews rooted in the worst anti-Semitism in the past, images that at times led to the persecution and murder of Jews… I used them without ever considering what they meant… I apologise for the hurt that I caused my Jewish friends. With the help of God, it will not happen again."
The Anti-Defamation League have accepted Hudson's apology and reiterated that 'The One That Got Away' singer Perry is in no way responsible for her father's remarks.
Perry's mother Mary Hudson has reportedly suggested that the popstar should date devout Christian football star Tim Tebow now that she has split from husband Russell Brand.
