Alec Baldwin on return to Twitter: 'I have to stop impostors'

Alec Baldwin has revealed that he has returned to Twitter to stop impostors from using his name.

The 30 Rock actor left the social networking site after publicly criticising American Airlines for being kicked off one of their planes in December, but recently began posting again.

Baldwin has now clarified that he has resumed his Twitter posts in order to identify people who pretend to be him.

"There's a lot of people who have different variations - that's very common. I think I [went back] for that reason - I'm so tired of people writing the wrong thing," he told Access Hollywood.

Baldwin officially returned to Twitter on January 7 to wish his fans a Happy New Year and also comment on the tropical vacation he took over the holidays.

The actor has signed on to reprise his role as network executive Jack Donaghy in 30 Rock's seventh season.

30 Rock airs tonight (January 12) at 8/7c on NBC.
