Gwyneth Paltrow has confessed that she is grateful to have struggled with depression in the past.
The Country Strong actress battled post-partum depression after the birth of her son Moses, an experience which she claimed helped bring clarity to her life.

During an appearance on Out of Character, Paltrow explained: "I didn't know really what was wrong with me... It changed me. It was great because it also became so clear to me what was important to me.
"At that time I just had no interest in career whatsoever. My agents would be like, 'This is getting weird. If you don't [get] re-engaged, everyone's gonna forget about you'. I was like, 'I don't care. I'm not leaving the babies'. It was so worth it."
Paltrow has previously credited Madonna with helping her see the positive aspects of her depression.
She has said that she is happiest being a stay-at-home mother and has a "fulfilling" home life with her children and husband Chris Martin.
