Michael Lohan ex-fiancée Kate Major arrested for battery

Michael Lohan's ex-fiancée Kate Major has been arrested on charges of battery.

TMZ reports that Major was taken into police custody this morning (January 15) in Boca Raton, FL, and is also being accused of resisting arrest.

She was later released and ordered to complete a mental health and drug evaulation. The results will be presented to a court within 48 hours to determine which direction the case should take.

Lohan, the father of actress Lindsay, has a permanent restraining order in place preventing him from seeing his former partner. It is unknown whether he was involved in this weekend's incident.

He escaped jail on a domestic violence charge in 2011 following a physical altercation with Major. Lohan was handed two years of probation and ordered not to contact his ex-fiancée under any circumstances.

Major has a previous battery arrest dating back to last November, when she was involved in an altercation with a fellow passenger on an airplane. No charges were filed following the incident.

Major completed a stint in rehab last week.
