George Clooney on Ryan Gosling missing Globes: He's a struggling actor

George Clooney has joked about his Ides of March co-star Ryan Gosling missing the Golden Globes on Sunday (January 15).
Gosling was nominated for the 'Best Actor (Drama)' Award for The Ides of March as well as the 'Best Actor (Musical or Comedy)' prize for Crazy, Stupid, Love, but failed to show up for the ceremony.
Clooney revealed in the Golden Globes press room following his own 'Best Actor (Drama)' win for The Descendants that Gosling was too busy to attend the Globes.
"He's in Thailand or something, and you know what you do in Thailand," Clooney joked.
The actor continued: "He wrote me a nice email this morning and I found out that he wasn't able to be here. It happens, you gotta work. He's gotta make a living, he's a struggling actor."
Clooney also joked about stealing friend Brad Pitt's cane while introducing a clip from the film Moneyball during the Golden Globes telecast.
