Keane singer admitted to rehab

Keane singer Tom Chaplin is back in rehab as part of his continuing battle against alcohol and cocaine.

The band recently cancelled upcoming gigs due to "exhaustion", but Chaplin last night admitted to the real reason behind the cancellations.

He told The Sun: “I’ve admitted myself to The Priory to get the professional help I need to overcome my increasing problem with drink and drugs. I’m looking forward to sorting myself out and getting back to playing again as soon as possible.”

The singer checked in last week, but took leave over the weekend to perform at the V festival.

A friend commented: “Tom is on a long road to recovery but he is getting better. He has basically admitted to himself he had a problem with drink and that is the first step. All of the group and his family are there for him and he looks as though he’s going to come out of the other side of this.”
