Billie Piper has decided to hire a full-time minder after being targeted by a stalker.
The Doctor Who actress became concerned about her own safety when she started to receive strange letters and noticed the crazed fan waiting outside her home.
A friend told the Daily Star: "This chap tends to become obsessive about certain stars. His targets change, but he will normally hassle a girl for six to 12 months. He has taken to dressing in a white doctor's coat and waiting outside her North London home.
"He has sent her several letters asking her to move in with him in the West Hampstead area. Now Billie is using the same guard who once looked after singer Jay Kay. Known as Flame, she is a real-life Lara Croft."
The man in question has previously targeted other stars including Charlotte Church and Claire Sweeney.
