Williams lends support to Blunt

Robbie Williams has slammed critics of fellow British solo artist James Blunt, insisting that the newcomer deserves praise.

The singer revealed that he thinks Blunt is a great entertainer, and should be respected for achieving something Williams has not - cracking the notoriously unforgiving American music scene.

He told Contactmusic: "He broke America and as a nation we should be proud of that. I've been to see his show three times and I'd go again and again. He's a good chap and one of the nicest people I've met in the business."
