Supermarket prank upsets EastEnder James

Supermarket pranksters irritated EastEnders star James Alexandrou – aka Martin Fowler – with a cheeky tannoy announcement.

A member of staff at a Waitrose in North London spotted the actor in the groceries aisle with his new girlfriend, co-star Kara Tointon (Dawn Miller).

The quick-thinking manager, refusing to pass up the opportunity to irritate a celebrity, reached for the tannoy, announcing: “Could Martin Fowler please go to the fruit and veg counter, I repeat, could Martin Fowler please go to the fruit and veg counter.”

“It was priceless," another member of staff told The Sun. "James was paying for his grub with Kara when the announcement rang round the shop."

The star then found a duty manager and launched into a moan. “He was saying he was there to do his shopping, not get abuse," the source said. "It didn’t help that the staff were cracking up around him.”
