Amanda Holden has been reunited with her newborn daughter Hollie after they were separated in hospital for three days.

The Britain's Got Talent judge gave birth to her second child with husband Chris Hughes on Sunday (January 22), but mother and baby had to be parted as they were "both fighting for life" due to separate medical issues.

Holden was in intensive care undergoing a number of transfusions to combat the loss of "several pints" of blood after labour, while Hollie was put on a respirator in a special care unit after experiencing breathing problems.

A source close to the actress confirmed that the pair were reunited on Wednesday (January 25), having recovered from their health scares.

"Amanda is still extremely woozy - she has been under heavy sedation following Hollie's birth," the insider told the Daily Mail.

"She was in intensive care for three days, you definitely cannot bring a newborn into intensive care, so Wednesday night was the first time she could have met Hollie after doctors judged that she was stable."

Hughes yesterday (January 26) thanked the medical staff who have looked after his loved ones throughout Holden's hospitalisation.

The couple are already parents to 6-year-old daughter Alexa. Holden suffered a stillbirth when seven months pregnant last year.
