Demi Moore meltdown 'not just about Ashton Kutcher'

By
Demi Moore's recent troubles were caused by more than just her separation from husband Ashton Kutcher, sources have suggested.

The Ghost actress filed for divorce last November following allegations that Kutcher had an affair on their sixth anniversary two months prior.

Moore's troubles came to a head on Monday (January 23) when she was admitted to hospital after a collapse. It has been claimed that the 49-year-old was suffering from exhaustion and anorexia, while leaked audio footage of a 911 call made by a friend suggests that she "smoked something" before falling ill.

Though Moore's issues have been attributed to the heartbreak of her split from Kutcher, insiders have said that the star has in fact been struggling to "prove" herself in the spotlight.

"This is not just about Ashton," the source told E! "I'm sure Ashton would like to think it's all about him.

"What [Demi's] going through now is not just things not working out with Ashton. It's really more about the toll it takes on any ambitious woman in this town.

"Meaning constantly having to prove you're not just a pretty face but a talented actor, as well. Constantly having to prove you're a good mother, not just a celebutante around town who goes to parties instead of looking after her family. Having to stay sober in a town that's so not.

"Demi's had a fight in her for many years, before Ashton ever came along... She loved him, and he her! Don't forget that. But this was before trouble began."

It has been suggested this weekend that Rumer Willis, Moore's 23-year-old daughter with ex-husband Bruce Willis, may have been present when the actress passed out, as a male voice can be heard referring to someone as "Ru" in the emergency call.
