Alec Baldwin diagnosed with pre-diabetes

Alec Baldwin has been diagnosed as a pre-diabetic.

The 30 Rock actor revealed at the SAG Awards on Sunday (January 29) that doctors first told him he'd developed the medical condition in May 2011.

Baldwin told ET Online that completely changing his diet has helped him feel better and also aided him in losing 30lbs.

The star has opened up about his private life in a series of interviews over the last few weeks, including a recent chat with Piers Morgan where he admitted he'd love to have children with girlfriend Hilaria Thomas.

He also revealed that he is still considering a run in politics after calling off a bid for mayor of New York City.

Baldwin took home the 'Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor in A Comedy Series' SAG Award on Sunday for his portrayal of network executive Jack Donaghy in 30 Rock.

30 Rock - co-starring Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan - airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC.
