Drew Barrymore: 'I'm at peace with myself as I near 40'

Drew Barrymore has declared that she is at peace with herself as she nears the age of 40.

The 36-year-old actress explained in an interview with In Style that she is very happy with her personal life and career.

"I'm pushing 40. I feel like those things that I always aspired to are finally being realised," she commented.

Barrymore added that her newfound confidence came only after years of self-doubts and unhappiness.

"I used to be afraid to let go of the intensity. I thought the work would suffer," she said. "But the lesson is - No, it's still good, and I'm a lot happier - and less of a nervous kid."

Barrymore recently got engaged to her long-time boyfriend Will Kopelman.

The actress is co-starring with John Krasinski and Kristen Bell in the romantic drama Big Miracle, which is released on Friday (February 3) in the US and on February 10 in the UK.
