Barbara Walters has denied speculation that she is involved in a bidding war to land an interview with Pippa Middleton.
The legendary broadcaster was rumoured to be bidding against Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres to conduct an exclusive interview with the Duchess of Cambridge's younger sister as part of a promotional drive for her new party planning book.
However, speaking on The View on Monday, Walters said: "ABC News does not pay for interviews."

Walters continued: "I have no idea what Oprah does but we do not pay. ABC News does not pay. [Oprah] is not a news programme, maybe they have a different policy."
She added: "To make it clear. Would I like to do the interview? Yes. I think she's a charming, beautiful girl. Will we pay for doing the interview? No."
Middleton, a professional party planner, was reported to have landed a deal with Penguin to write a book about party planning last year.
It has been reported that any fee Middleton might receive for an interview will be donated to charity.
