The LCD Soundsystem frontman explained that he was recently given a training course on making his own coffee from a leading expert, and that he intends to produce his own line.
"I make a lot of coffee," he told Grub Street. "For my birthday, my girlfriend got me a training course with the world champion. That's what I'm going to do when I get back to London."
Speaking at the premiere of his documentary Shut Up and Play the Hits - a film about his final live performance - he added that he plans to "just go to a roaster who lives near [him] and start tweaking beans and temperatures".
"I thought it would be fun. I have beans that I like. I like this sometimes and that sometimes. Sometimes in the middle."
It is yet to be confirmed where the coffee will be sold, but Murphy did reveal that it would be available at a single shop.
He added: "I can't talk about that because I'm still in negotiations. I love that we're here and talking about a film, but I'm like, 'I can't really talk about the coffee'."
