Johnny Knoxville has been attacked while drinking in a Hollywood bar.

The Dukes of Hazzard actor was relaxing at Tinys KO bar with fellow Jackass stars Steve-O and Chris Pontius when a man apparently pushed him against a wall.

Knoxville's friends immediately leapt to his aid and dragged the aggressor outside, but the star was eager to avoid a punch-up.

A witness told US OK! magazine: "Johnny tried to mediate. He looked a bit shaken up when he came back into the bar, but the other two were disappointed that they didn't fight."
