Madonna Super Bowl tightrope man: 'I have nuts of steel'

A stuntman who appeared during Madonna's Super Bowl halftime show has spoken about his tightrope skills.

Andy Lewis performed impressive jumps and balancing moves on a tightrope while Madonna sang in the background during her comeback last night. His act included bouncing several times on what appeared to be his groin.

"My nuts are fine," he told TMZ.

Lewis explained that he understood how many people have concerns over his act. He said: "I've been doing it for years, and over time your nuts harden to steel."

He added that he doesn't wear a cup during his stunts, saying: "You just try to not squish and pop them, so you put them to one side."

Madonna performed with MIA, Nicki Minaj, Cee Lo Green and LMFAO during her halftime show, which included a rendition of her new single 'Gimme All Your Luvin''.

NBC has since apologised for a gesture by MIA during the performance.
