The 'Mr Know It All' star was joined by the Indianapolis Children's Choir and drummers for her performance of 'The Star-Spangled Banner' ahead of the championship football game between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Clarkson has since revealed that she was incredibly nervous about the event but was glad to see that the performance went off without a hitch.
"I have probably sang the National Anthem a thousand times and have never been nervous, but I definitely was last night at the Super Bowl! That was the longest minute and a half of my life!" she told MTV News.
"I was very excited as well because of the drum line and the Indianapolis kids choir that were performing with me. They made the performance stand out a lot more and those kids sounded so ethereal and beautiful! It was a huge honour to get to sing the anthem and I'd be proud to do it again!"
NBC has been forced to apologise for MIA giving the middle finger during Madonna's Super Bowl halftime show.
