Kate Beckinsale talks acting return: 'I didn't plan on a sabbatical'
Kate Beckinsale has said that she will continue to avoid using social media.
The Contraband star spoke to Women's Health about her return to the big screen following a hiatus, during which she focused on smaller projects and being a mother to her daughter Lily.

Beckinsale said: "I didn't plan on a sabbatical, there just wasn't anything I was dying to do and I have to really make the decision - is it worth me being away from my kid?"
However, despite her break, the actress said that she was not tempted to join social media websites such as Twitter or Facebook, adding: "I'd like to be able to reserve the right to complain about people bothering me in my private life."

Speaking of her return to the Underworld series, Beckinsale admitted that she is not a natural action star.
"It's not really in my nature to do all this ass-kicking," she said. "When I first started training for Underworld they were like, 'She can't even f**king run!'. And I couldn't."
She continued: "I got more bruises on Contraband than in all the Underworlds put together. It was like, 'Let's not choreograph the fight, let's just see what happens'. And all of a sudden [co-star] Giovanni Ribisi comes flying into my house and beats the s**t out of me."
The full interview appears in the new UK launch issue of Women's Health, on sale tomorrow (February 8).
