Adele responds to Karl Lagerfeld fat jibe: 'I'm proud of my body'

Adele has responded to being branded "a little too fat" by Karl Lagerfeld, stating that she is "very proud" of her figure.

The Chanel boss told reporters earlier this week that he believes Adele "has a beautiful face and a divine voice", but needs to lose some weight.



Responding to Lagerfeld's comments, the 'Someone Like You' singer declared that she was happy to be an inspiration for more curvaceous fans.

"I've never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines," she told People. "I represent the majority of women and I'm very proud of that."

Adele has also opened up about undergoing surgery on her vocal chords last year.

"It felt like someone put a curtain over my throat," she recalled. "It felt like something popped in my throat."
