The Chanel boss came under fire for his assessment of the 'Someone Like You' singer's weight, prompting him to insist that his remark was "taken out of context".
"I'd like to say to Adele that I am your biggest admirer," he said. "She is my favourite singer and I am a great admirer of her... Adele is a beautiful girl."
However, Lagerfeld's backtracking has not sat well with Carr, who branded the 78-year-old as "a vile old queen".
"Adele is beautiful - leave her alone," he declared in The Sun. "Lagerfeld is a vile old queen. If I see him I'd rip his grey hair off the top of his prune face.
"He needs to sort his face out. I mean, he could drop kick his jowels they're so saggy."
Adele herself has responded to Lagerfeld by saying that she is "very proud" to "represent the majority of women".
