Madonna's escaped stalker recaptured by police

The man who served time for stalking Madonna has been recaptured by police after escaping from a psychiatric hospital.
Robert Dewey Hoskins, who is described as having "very violent tendencies", was arrested today (February 10) near Metropolitan State Hospital in Norwalk, Los Angeles. He is believed to have walked out of the same facility unnoticed the previous day.
Hoskins was sentenced to 10 years in jail back in 1996 after threatening to cut Madonna's throat and breaking into her home in the city, where he was only stopped after being shot by security guards.
Madonna claimed when testifying at the trial that she had been left with recurring nightmares following her run-in with the "highly psychotic" man.
"I feel incredibly disturbed that the man who repeatedly threatened my life is sitting across the room from me," she said. "I feel we are making his fantasies come true."
Hoskins was determined to be a "mentally-disturbed offender" after his release from jail and entered the hospital after being arrested again last year.
