'Doctor Who' Matt Smith: 'I'll happily do nude scenes'

Doctor Who star Matt Smith has said that he would have no problem going naked on film.

The actor, who is rumoured to have reconciled with ex-girlfriend Daisy Lowe, said that he was more open to stripping off after watching Michael Fassbender go full-frontal in Shame.



"I think Shame was brilliant and Michael magnetic in it," the Sunday Mirror quotes him as saying. "One day I would love to do something similar and maybe work with director Steve ­McQueen.

"Of course I would get naked for a role. I've got naked on stage so why not on screen?"

Smith added that he has more pride in his physique after training for BBC Olympic drama Bert & Dickie, in which he plays champion rower Bert Bushnell.

"I got fitter. I trained twice a week," he explained. "The guys who taught us were remarkable - actual Olympians."

Smith confirmed at the National Television Awards last month that he has no plans to leave Doctor Who.
