Whitney Houston was underwater and unconscious when she was found in her hotel bathtub, police have confirmed.
Lieutenant Mark Rosen of the Beverly Hills Police Department spoke to the media today concerning the iconic singer's death over the weekend.

Rose verified that Houston was discovered in the bath by a member of her personal staff at 3.30pm on February 11.
"She was underwater and apparently unconscious," Rosen announced. "Ms Houston was pulled from the tub by members of her staff and hotel security was promptly notified."
He also said that Houston's death is not a homicide investigation but a death investigation.
"As of right now, it's not a criminal investigation," revealed Rosen. "We have concluded our portion of the investigation at the hotel."
The police declared that there were no signs of foul play and no obvious indications of trauma on the singer's body, but declined to offer any more information to preserve the integrity of the investigation.
The police are waiting for the toxicology results from the coroner's office before they can rule out any causes of death, although it could take weeks before they can obtain the results.
