Samuel L Jackson has revealed that he voted for US President Barack Obama solely because the politician is African-American.
The Avengers star admitted to Ebony magazine that Obama's political platform didn't concern him when he cast his vote in 2008.

"I voted for Barack because he was black. 'Cos that's why other folks vote for other people - because they look like them," he claimed.
Jackson also suggested that Obama only reached the presidency because he catered his "message" to middle-America.
"That's American politics, pure and simple… [Obama's] message didn't mean s**t to me," the actor insisted. "When it comes down to it, they wouldn't have elected a n-word. An n-word is scary. Obama ain't scary at all."
Prior to the election in 2008, Jackson expressed fears for Obama's safety once he took office.
He explained at the time: "It really bothers me sometimes that we have to be so politically correct. What we fear most as black people who want Obama to win or be elected is when is someone gonna try and kill him?
"Everybody acts like that's not the elephant in the room but it is."
