'Sonny with a Chance' star Tiffany Thornton pregnant

Tiffany Thornton and her husband Chris Carney are expecting their first child.

The Sonny with a Chance actress announced her pregnancy in a series of Twitter posts on Monday (February 13).

Thornton tweeted: "(Carney) and I are SO EXCITED to announce that we are going to be parents!! That's right… I'm pregnant! We couldn't be happier!"

Carney also shared the happy news on his own Twitter account, writing: "My wife and I are going to have a baby!!! So blessed!!"

The couple married last November in a ceremony where Thornton's Sonny with a Chance co-star Demi Lovato caught the bridal bouquet.

Thornton first announced her engagement to Carney in February 2010 after dating the musician for more than a year.

The actress stars as John McCain's daughter Meghan McCain in the upcoming political drama Game Change, which has been condemned by Sarah Palin.

Game Change airs on HBO on March 10.
