Louis CK 'cooking dinner when he learned of Grammy win'

Louis CK

Louis CK has revealed that he was cooking dinner when he learned that he had won a Grammy Award on Sunday (February 12).

The comedian chose to spend Sunday evening with his children rather than attend the star-studded Grammys ceremony, where he was awarded the 'Best Comedy Album' award for his 2011 release Hilarious.

Louis CK reacted to winning the prize by tweeting: "Im cooking rice green beans, steak for the kids (gf chicken fingers too) and someone just told me i won a Grammy. well golly.

"Thank you to whoever decides to give those things to people. And thank you to people who buy things that i make and then laugh."

A Hilarious television special has also received critical praise, earning two Primetime Emmy nominations for 'Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Special' and 'Outstanding Picture Editing for a Special (Single or Multi-Camera)'.

The comic has several high-profile projects lined up, including pairing with Spike Feresten to create a sitcom for CBS about a group of young people trying to achieve their dreams in spite of the global economic downturn.

He will also host the 68th Annual Radio & Television Congressional Correspondents Dinner in Washington DC in June.
