Tommy Chong: 'Whitney Houston should have stuck to marijuana'

Tommy Chong has suggested that Whitney Houston would still be alive if she had only smoked marijuana.
Houston admitted to abusing cocaine and other drugs in the years before her death and prescription drugs were reportedly found in the hotel room where she passed away on Saturday (February 11).
The LA Coroner's Office has cautioned that it will wait until toxicology tests are completed before announcing if drugs played a role in Houston's death.
Chong - a noted marijuana advocate - has commented on Houston's death and suggested that switching from pot to harder drugs led to the singer's downfall.
"Had she just stuck to pot, she'd be alive today. It's when you get into that other stuff [that trouble starts]," the actor told Access Hollywood.
"The trouble with that other stuff is that you forget you're high," the Cheech & Chong star added. "You think you're taking a bath and you're not. You're under the water. It's a sad, sad thing."
Houston's funeral will be held on Saturday (February 18) in Newark, NJ at the New Hope Baptist Church.
The singer's Greatest Hits album has seen a surge in sales following her death and has even entered the US Billboard 200 Top 10.
