Last year, Ratner resigned as producer of the 2012 Oscars after he used a gay slur during a question and answer session for Tower Heist.
The director later issued an apology statement, saying that he "should have been much more thoughtful about the power of language and [his] choice of words".
The director is now teaming up with GLAAD on issues concerning lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender images in Hollywood.
"Working together with GLAAD has been a very positive and enlightening experience for me, and I could not be more pleased to be developing this crucial campaign to help educate people that we all share the same humanity," Ratner said.
Ratner will direct and produce a video series that features entertainers, athletes and politicians who support equality and the LGBT community.
