Russell Brand 'dating Mexican painter following Katy Perry split'

Russell Brand is reportedly dating a Mexican painter.

The comedian, who filed for divorce from Katy Perry in December, is said to have met Oriela Medellin Amieiro at a yoga class.



The 25-year-old was spotted being dropped back at her LA apartment by Brand earlier this week after spending the night at his place, but admitted that she is "not comfortable" talking about the new relationship, The Sun reports.

The artist describes her work, which includes nude paintings, as exploring "guilt, sensuality, sexuality and repression from a woman's perspective". Her paintings sell for up to £4,500 a time.

Brand and Perry recently reached a settlement and were granted a divorce by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Marc Marmaro, which will be finalised on July 14 under Californian law.

Brand has since confessed to being "disenchanted" with fame, calling it "meaningless".
