The reality star recounted the "emotional experience" during an appearance on NBC's Today this morning (February 20) when she was asked whether she and husband Jason Hoppy - who are parents to daughter Bryn - were hoping to expand their family.
Frankel replied: "I'm 41. It's a very personal question that I do get asked a lot. We were pregnant with a second baby and at eight weeks I miscarried and that was a very emotional experience and had a lot of different things that came with it.
"Thinking about women who can't have their own baby - even the first baby - I'm really lucky. I have the most beautiful daughter in the world and I'm grateful for her... I'm 41, and I don't know. It's not really my choice. It's not really my option. The window's closing and so it's something I'm dealing with."

Frankel said that the miscarriage wouldn't be addressed on her Bravo show because it is something that happened "very recently".
She added: "I honestly truthfully have thought about other women more than myself... In this particular case the first thing I thought about is, 'Oh my God, I can't believe what people must go through if they can't even have the one'.
"My baby is still young, she's 21 months, so I'm still enjoying her being a baby and I love that. There are so many emotional things that come with it it's hard to put it in a small conversation. You go through a rollercoaster of emotions about it."
The third season of Bethenny Ever After premieres tonight (February 20) at 9/8c on Bravo.
