Clint Eastwood has said that he doesn't think the United States has had a great president in a while.

The movie star revealed that he hasn't been a fan of many recent American presidents but admired Harry S Truman, who served from 1945 to 1953.

The 81-year-old told TMZ that he liked George Washington and Abraham Lincoln but struggled when it came to later presidents.

He said: "You mean in our life time? I think Truman because he got mad at the people who bum rapped his daughter."

However, he added: "We haven't seen one for a while."
