Ashlee Simpson has started dating Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz a week after splitting from her boyfriend.
The singer was previously going out with Brandon Olita, the guitarist from her support band, but her spokesperson has confirmed the split.
"(They) broke up about a week ago. They decided to take a break," Simpson's representative told US Weekly.
A friend of the star added: "Ashlee has been telling everyone that she's over Braxton."
Wentz is reported to have dumped Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Michelle Trachtenberg in order to be with the 'Invisible' vocalist, and was seen kissing his new girlfriend recently at a New York club.
