Rod Stewart has taken the time to sympathise with Paul McCartney during his appearance at the GQ Awards.
The rocker made his feelings known about the difficult time McCartney is currently going through during the break-up of his marriage when he accepted the Outstanding Achievement Award.
He admitted that his own divorce from model Rachel Hunter had crushed him and was difficult to come to terms with.
According to the Mirror, he stated: "My lowest point was when Rachel left. That was a bolt of lightning. F*** me, it was terrible. Look at Paul now. I feel so sorry for him. I wasn't prepared for it at all. I grew up a lot after that."
The former Beatle picked up the Man of the Year award.
