'Seinfeld' Daniel Von Bargen hospitalised: 'I shot myself in the head'

Seinfeld star Daniel Von Bargen has been hospitalised after shooting himself in the head.

The actor, who played Mr Kruger in the hit sitcom, called the emergency services on Monday morning following the apparent suicide attempt, reports TMZ.

He told the person on the receiving end of the call: "I've shot myself in the head... and I need help."

It emerged that the injury was no accident when an operator questioned him further to determine whether there was someone else in the house who could put him or others at danger.

The diabetic screen star replied: "I was supposed to go to the hospital and I didn't want to. They were supposed to amputate at least a few toes."

He then went on to reveal: "I shot in my temple."

Von Bargen also played Chief Grady in Super Troopers.
