Shannon Noll has decided to move back to the countryside.

The Australian singer - who is best known for his hit songs such as 'What About Me' and 'Lift' - is believed to be returning to his rural roots in Victoria before he allegedly starts his stint on Dancing with the Stars Australia.

A friend of Noll told The Daily Telegraph: "He's a country guy who is moving out of the 'burbs and back to the country - he couldn't be happier. Shannon's that kind of guy who is going to love teaching the kids to clean out the stables and all that kind of stuff."

Noll's five-bedroom Lilli Pilli house in Sydney was recently sold for over $1.25 million, the insider claims.

Noll and wife Rochelle are now believed to have started the search for a country property where she can continue working as a horse trainer.

The couple's three children Cody, Blake and Sienna are reportedly "really excited" to take their pony with them to their new home.

Noll's manager has confirmed that he is relocating, but could not say whether he is taking part in this year's Dancing with the Stars, which films in Melbourne.

Other stars believed to be taking part in the Seven Network reality show include former Neighbours actress Erin McNaught, Russell Crowe's wife Danielle Spencer, sports star Brendan Fevola, ex-morning television host Kerri-Anne Kennerley and rock musician Brian Mannix.
