Lionel Richie has admitted he supervises his daughter's eating, to ensure she is sensible.

Nicole Richie has had serious weight problems recently, and her dad is keen for her to add to her thin frame.

The singer tries to take Nicole out for meals as often as he can, and he believes his efforts are having an effect.

He said: "I'm all over her everyday, 'Meet me for lunch. Meet me for dinner.' She is putting on the weight."
