The former child star sat out a performance of his Off-Broadway show The Fantasticks after falling sick.
The singer/actor has been appearing at New York City's Snapple Theatre Centre since November, and only recently returned to the stage after a leave of absence following the death of his sister Leslie Carter.
However, Aaron has now been taken ill and will miss one of this week's performances.
In a series of posts on Twitter he explained to fans why he wouldn't be appearing.
He posted: "Had to call out… Sick day The Fantasticks… Damn!! I'm up early… that's what happens when your (sic) sick!"
He revealed that he is determined to get better in time to perform a solo show in Allentown, Pennsylvania on Wednesday.
He added: "I'll see you this Wednesday. Trying to get better for you guys…"
