Lindsay Lohan: 'I've learned to live more responsibly'

By
Lindsay Lohan has revealed that she is learning to live more responsibly.

The Machete star sat down for an interview with Today's Matt Lauer in advance of her return to Saturday Night Live this weekend to discuss her troubled past.

Lohan explained that spending time in rehab and serving a jail term for allegedly stealing a necklace from an LA boutique helped her realise that she needed to make major changes.

"I've learned how to live my life in a way that I'm happy and I can do the things that I want to do," she told Lauer. "I think it's this recent whirlwind of experiences that I've gone through this past year and a half. I've kind of just taken a step back and I'm not doing what I love to do and I need to find that balance again."

Lohan went on to describe serving community service at the LA County Morgue as a major "learning experience" which helped her turn her life around.

"The two women I work with [at the morgue] have been so wonderful to me and I've learned so much just from them… They're just genuinely nice, good people and everyone there has been really just kind to me," she explained.

"It's been a learning experience and I'm glad that I experienced it… It's helped me. It was humbling."

Lohan previously revealed that she is now "clean and sober" and is hoping that her appearance on Saturday Night Live will revive her acting career.

Saturday Night Live airs at 11.30/10.30c on NBC.
