Bruce Springsteen asks fans to aid search for missing college student

Bruce Springsteen has urged his fans to help in the search for a missing US college student.

The 'We Take Care of Our Own' singer posted a message on his official Facebook page asking for information leading to the whereabouts of 21-year-old Franco Garcia.

The Boston College student was last seen just after midnight on February 22 at a Brighton, MA bar.

Springsteen's call for help for the Garcia family has received over 2,000 'likes' on Facebook and has attracted more than 200 well-wishes for the missing student.

The police investigation into Garcia's disappearance has been fruitless thus far even after searching the man's home, according to The AP.

Springsteen has a familial connection to Boston College as his 20-year-old son Evan Springsteen attends the university.
