Eamonn Holmes, Lenny Henry and Roy Walker were among the celebrities who paid tribute to the comedian at St. Patrick's Church.
The 85-year-old passed away at his home in Blackpool last month following a battle with stomach cancer.
The service was led by Bishop Edward Daly, before Carson's coffin was taken from the Catholic church to the nearby Protestant St Anne's Cathedral, as part of his wish to be liked by everyone, the BBC reports.
Carson, who is survived by his wife Ruth, daughter Majella and sons Tony and Aidan, along with ten grandchildren, will be buried at Milltown Cemetery later today (March 3).
Fellow comedian and former colleague Ken Goodwin also passed away last month. He had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease for several years.
